Photoshop CS6 error while saving a file

Photoshop CS6 blocks very often when I would like to save a file. It's doesn't show any error message. When I would like to "force quit" Photoshop, it doesn't work at all. And I also can't restart just Photoshop, but need to restart my Mac completely. I am working on the latest version of MacBook Pro - Mac Os X 10.7.4 - 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 - Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3.

All other design programs are CS6 versions too and I don't have any problems with these.

Any idea to solve this problem ???

Do you mean the application hangs?

When exactly does it hang?

Needing to restart the whole machine makes this sound like an OS level problem. Even if the app is hung, you can still force quit it. But if the OS is hung - that would require a restart. Do other apps work while Photoshop is hung?

Yes, Photoshop hangs when I would like to save an image on an external hard disk (not always, but often). I have this problem since a few weeks, while I am working already a few months with CS6.

When I try to upload the image that I tried to save in Indesign CS6, it works fine. This means that the image is saved, but Photoshop hangs, while it is finished with saving the image (but on my screen I don't see this).

Other apps working while Photoshop does nothing anymore. Only the 'force quit' doesn't do anything when I would like to use this to force quit Photoshop.
