Photoshop CS5 x64 on Windows 7 64 Ultimate.
8GB RAM
i7-2630QM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M w/ Optimus

With NVIDIA set to force Photoshop to use dGPU (GT 555M)

When trying to access Photomerge dialog (that is - File_Automate_Photomerge)
Causes Photoshop to crash with following log:

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: Photoshop.exe
Application Version: 12.1.0.0
Application Timestamp: 4d90d339
Fault Module Name: Photoshop.exe
Fault Module Version: 12.1.0.0

Additional Information 4: 1dea73ee3513ce339e08c6b1e7284df0

This happens before the photomerge dialog box comes up.

**With dGPU turned OFF there is no problem.

**Disabling OpenGL does NOT fix the issue when the dGPU is being used.

Will there ever be support for this video card?

If OpenGL drawing is turned off, then Photoshop isn't directly using the GPU.

That just leaves problems in the basic driver for the video card.

And since it does work with dGPU disabled, that's more evidence of problems with the video card driver.

Thanks for the quick comment, Chris. I'm on a Sager laptop, and currently have the most up-to-date drivers that they recommend per their website (8.17.12.6640):

http://www2.sagernotebook.com/pages/n...

I will update to the newest version of the driver per NVIDIA (280.26) - the notes claim:
"Supports the new GPU-accelerated features in Adobe Creative Suite 5 including Photoshop CS5."

Will let you know how it goes.

Worked.

Thanks, Chris.

Updated to latest NVIDIA Drivers on Sager NP5165 w/ NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M (280.26) - currently no problems in PS5.5.

Glad to hear that updating the driver worked.
