Have you tried restoring prefs? http://adobe.ly/PS_Prefs

Are you using any 3rd party plug-ins?

Did you submit a crash report with your email address?

If not, posting the crash log might be helpful. They are located here:

Giovanna, was it the security update 2012-001? I have not installed it yet, might wait since hearing that.
I guess that it never crashed before? Any specifics about the document you are trying to open?

Yes, it was. The 2 late upgrade

I was trying simply to open... but it wasn't possible either to choose the file...

Photoshop didn't crash before. But lately I had some problems with it: some menĂ¹ functions unexpectedly became unavailable without reason (in grey colour) and I had to restart the program to use them.

I already tried to restore prefs.
Maybe is an account problem, because I create a new administrator account, restart the mac and PS works.... but I haven't enough time to test

We need to see the rest of the crash report (the parts after the first few lines you copied) to know why it crashed.

I took a look at the crash log you posted to my blog. Unfortunately, there are no symbols in the crash report, so submitting it with your email address via crash reporter will help resolve the code.

Given that you can run with a different account indicates that there are OS/permissions issues. I would doublecheck that you have read/write access for both user and root library directories.

What menu items were gray? That may offer other clues.
