Photoshop: Hangs in MacOS 10.9 save dialog when I try to cancel

There has been a recurring problem the past couple of days with Photoshop crashing. It happens when I try to cancel a file-save operation from the window. For example, say I am about to decide what file name and file type, but I hit cancel, instead. Photoshop is unresponsive and I have to force it to quit. Does Mavericks 10.9 really suck this bad???

For the record, I thought I would submit a screen shot of when it happens, and guess what...

It CRASHED when I hit cancel. : D

MacOS 10.9 has a couple known problems in the file open/save dialogs - especially if set to CoverFlow mode (just change the view to another mode to avoid those bugs).

Also note that a hang is a very different issue from a crash.

Chris, I do not use the "cover flow" view, as I find it completely annoying. Secondly, forgive me for not using the correct vernacular or jargon— a perpetual hang might as well be a crash, but I understand it is not.

A car that stalls is like a hang - it has a chance of recovering.
A car that explodes on the freeway is like a crash.

Yes, Mac OS 10.9 has a lot of known issues, and Apple is working on them.

Sampling the hung application might give us some clue about why the OS dialog is hanging when you cancel. (you can use Instruments or Activity Monitor to get the sample)

I tried to get you a sample, but your text filter would not allow it because of profanity... your code, not mine. If you have an email I can send it to you there. I am not going through all that code and checking for curse words.

That's weird. Email it to ccox at adobe dot com and I'll take a look.

And the profanity filter comes from GetSatisfaction - we'll also take a look at that...

Sent you an email with another hang. Maybe Adobe could incorporate a PDF attachment for the comments so you don't have to use your email...

Does the Mac OS X 10.9.1 update or later solve this problem for you?
