I Cannot get the COMIC and the PEN and INK filters to work anymore, since MAVERICKS.

I have restarted many times since upgrading. Apple has an auto response that begins
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000008, reply to

Photohop 11. as recommended by ADOBE today,
I tried logging out and in as a Guest, opened PHSP 11 and filtering in question,.
same problem repeated.....working window appears, stays blank and then shuts in a few seconds.
Returning to my admin login, same problem still exists

Have you tried restoring your preferences?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application?

I had a complicated installation and had to use Adobe's assistance. Many permissions had tp be changed.. I hesitate to reinstall!
When I encountered this problem I was advised in a chat to login as another administrator, and see if the filters work...they do not.
For future references: the take over by you cannot be performed if the FIREWALL is on. I learned this after chat #1 said the Firewall did not matter! At which point I lost contact abruptly.
There are three filters in the long list under Sketch, that do not open. the 3 have in common, a unique window, which opens, remains blank and then crashes!

MAC. OS MAVERICK. problem began after this upgrade....

My guess is that your OS still has permissions issues that may have been exacerbated by the upgrade process. Have you considered a clean install of the OS to get back to a good state?

Maverick is a new upgrade, and it is rather large. 43 minutes.
I have a late model MacBook with the previous OS and this Elements 11, and it works perfectly with these filters, without the Maverick upgrade.
Can you determine of others are having a similar problem.
This filter is unique in the filter setup, and it is new.
I do not relish your suggestion.

Hilbert Camp - I have the exact same issue as you with no comic or ink filters working properly after a OS Mavericks upgrade. Photoshop Elements 11 crashes after trying to apply one of the filters. I have a new iMac with PSE11 installed.

THERE ARE THREE FILTERS, GRAPHIC NOVEL, PEN AND INK, AND COMIC,
not working with Apple's latest upgrade Maverick.
I spoke with 2 advisors on ADOBE; They insisted I restart with an alternate Adminsitrator log in, assuring me this would straighten out the problem. I tried this and it does not help. Tryng to get back to this "open case" was futile. I received emails claiming the advisor tried to get back to me, unsuccessfully. I tried to get back to Adobe chat and mail, but was given a run around.
Barbara Brundage, a well known publisher of manuals, wrote to me confirming the problem I described, saying the said filters work fine Elements 12 (but not Elements 11)
This is where the situation stands. Not satisfying. Adobe advisors should have admitted to this problem, and not give out misleading solutions.

Bump. This should be fixed. Does no developer in Adobe have a macbook pro with OSX Maverick to check out this problem?

Bump. Same issue here. Any solution found? It seems to be about a month since this problem arose.

In regards to fixing the three filters not working issue, GRAPHIC NOVEL,PEN & INK, and COMIC, which results in a Photoshop Elements 11 program crash after installing Apple's OS Mavericks and applying one of the filters when using the program...

I don't think ADOBE developers or technical support are giving this issue any second thoughts and totally disregarding their PSE11 customers. Adobe probably wants you to run out and buy the latest member of their family Photoshop Elements 12 which won't fix the problem. PLEASE ADOBE... make AN EFFORT to help your frustrated customers with a fix to this ongoing problem if you truely care about your customers.

We have now verified this behavior on our side.

However, Photoshop Elements 11 was shipped before Mavericks was released.
We simply couldn't test on this OS while Elements 11 was still in production.

Unfortunately, we are unable to update old versions of Elements to keep them compatible with OS updates. The stated system requirements for version 11 only go up to Mac OS 10.8 (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/po...). While Elements may often continue to work after an OS update, installing on systems that are outside the listed requirements are done at the users own risk. In order to be fully compatibility with the latest version of the Mac OS, you generally must also update to the latest version of Photoshop Elements.

The topic of this discussion is specific to a known conflict between Photoshop Elements 11 and Mac OS 10.9. You'll want to start a new topic for this discussion. On that topic, please verify for which filters this issue occurs. Is it only these same filters that fail or do others fail as well?

Just found our this thread after trying to use se sketch filters in Photoshop Elements 11. I'm running OS X Yosemite.

I get a crash everytime I want to use these filters. Will upgrading to Photoshop Elements 12 fix this or is this just a waste of money..? any official (Adobe) news on this..?
