Hi Hugh,

What happens when you try? Can you place the cursor there? Do you hear a bell? Is there a message at the bottom of the Shortcut dialog? What version of Photoshop are you running (14.1.2?) and on what OS?

Remember, some shortcuts must be A-Z only; the dialog will remind you of this when applicable.

Thanks,
David

The current shortcut disappears and a white box looks ready to enter a new shortcut but when I hit the command key nothing happens. I want to change the step backward shortcut to command+z.
I can place the cursor but it does nothing. I do not hear a bell. The message at the bottom that says the change will result in a change in the history panel that would happen automatically. I am using Photoshop CC and OS 10.9.2.

Are you running in English? What language is your keyboard set to? Are you running any companion apps which impact the keyboard?

When you see the message at the bottom of the screen, are you clicking either Accept and Go to Conflict at the bottom left or Accept at the toppish-right?

English, no apps.

Yes for accept but the place to change the shortcut goes back to blue, I then click on the space, turns white, I try to enter command and cannot. I tried clicking add shortcut and that did not work either.

What you're describing sounds really odd.

Can we do a web-hosted screenshare to get to the bottom of this? I'll follow up with email.

Thanks,
David
