Photoshop CC Smart Sharpen error Not Enough Memory ??

I have recently started getting an error when I use smart sharpen that says it can't be completed because there is not enough memory (RAM). I've had Photoshop CC since April of this year, haven't changed any settings, but this error is new. The memory is set to 6638 mb in preferences, and task manager shows only between 21% and 31% memory being used. What is the problem and how can I fix it? Win 8 64 bit OS

Have you installed the 14.1.1 update?

And can you post the last 20 lines or so from PSErrorLog.txt in your Photoshop preferences folder.

This same error also occurs using quick selection tool, and saving jpg format in anything other than base.
I don't think the rest of my post is going through. Screenshots.

This is the only pserrorlog that I am aware of. I did a system search, and this was also the only result.

I raised the memory to 7088 under performance in preferences, and nothing seems to make any difference. I've tried using the graphics processor, not using it, and have tried all 3 settings basic to advanced, and still continue to get the error.
Smart sharpen, and now quick selection tool and saving jpg formats. The same error occurs if I try to save jpg as progressive. Task manager performance isn't reflecting anything draining the memory. The error happens if I open nothing but PS cc after starting up the computer, importing an image and using smart sharpen, and often the others I've listed.

Do you have any third party plugins installed, or Flash Panels?

Hello, do you remember the last thing that changed on your machine before the error started to occur?
Can you post the contents of help>System info... ?

Fantt isn't alone. I've gotten the same message every time until I increased the Memory Usage to 1330 MB (81%) of the 1642 MB of Available RAM - from about 60%.
Smart Sharpen is still VERY slow - over half a minute - unless it runs inside an Action.

I uninstalled Photoshop CC after trying everything else. After I reinstalled it, it works great again! Before the error began to occur I had the same issue as you did, Max. It was very slow for even the smallest sharpen. After I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, it isn't even slow like that any more. I copied all of my brushes/styles/shapes/patterns etc into a different folder before I uninstalled just to be safe.

Max I was wondering if you tend to have a ton of brushes/shapes/styles loaded up at all times? I had a ton of brushes loaded , and shapes, so I am wondering if
that could possibly be what was causing the memory issue? After reinstallation of course, not many of either are loaded , and I've still not loaded but a few , and I'm no longer having the problems.

An idea to try, anyway. I'm extremely happy to have my PS CC back!!!

Get emotional? OK. I'm going to pull out my Glock .40 and shoot this computer if something isn't done to correct this soon.

I have the same problem with 32GB of RAM, 25GB Free, 24GB reserved for PS.

I was unable to resolve it in any way other than uninstalling and reinstalling. I would suggest saving all custom brushes/styles/ect in a seperate, unrelated folder just to be safe. Every so often smart sharpen is a little slow, but since reinstalling I haven't had the memory error.
