Just updated Mavericks to my MBP (mid2010). Now I am not able to save or open files with the latest version of Photoshop CC.. When saving or opening files Filebrowser view/dialogue appears only for a second or two and then disappears and "program error"-notice occurs. Rebooting machine won't help. Anybody else having same issues? Unable to work now..

Photoshop CC Crashes when trying to save file or opening file on Mac OS X.

When opening multiable files or just saving a file it crashes with error log box. It has only been happening since the last update of Photoshop.

We are running Mac OS 10.9

Is there anyway to go back a version of Photoshop CC before last update?

This is very urgent

This issue is fixed in the Mac OSX 10.9.1 update or later.

Wait for Yosemite OS X 10.10 .... where none of the Open / Save as dialogs are working.

MacOS 10.10 is still in early testing -- so Apple has some time to fix all those bugs.

Use,

File -> Edit in ImageReady

I saved my file for being a huge lost. Because I completed my whole artwork and received a kind of error saying "Could not save because of a program error". I tried all possible options. But wont work. Then I tried Edit in ImageReady, Then I could save my file as psd though Image Ready. I hope this should work for you guys too :).

Thanks

Photoshop CC does not include ImageReady. ImageReady has not been shipped with Photoshop for many years.

Also, this topic is talking about an Apple OS bug in MacOS 10.9 that was fixed in MacOS 10.9.1.

Hi Chris, sorry if this is the wrong place to post but I have just discovered this issue ONLY AFTER upgrading to Yosemite and using PS 2014 (CC version ok)! Whenever I tried to open a few files, on about the 2nd/3rd file I got the error message 'could not complete request because of a program error'. Thankfully an Adobe technician just asked me to change to 'list view' when opening files and the problem went away. It's fine in cover flow too, it's just whenever I use 'Column' view which frustratingly is the view I'm most used to using (it's fine in column view if dragging files to PS icon to open, just when using file-open). Never had any issues like this prior to Yosemite! It has been passed to a 3rd level technician to find the cause - is it worth contacting Apple about this?

This topic is about a bug in MacOS 10.9 that Apple fixed quite a while ago. Unless Apple reintroduced the same bug in 10.10, you have a different issue.

But we do know that Apple has added a few crashing bugs in the open/save dialogs in MacOS 10.10. So yes, it would be good for you to contact Apple so they can get any details they need to fix the bugs introduced in MacOS 10.10.

This is still a problem. I had one Photoshop CC (2014.2.2) and two Illustrator CC (2014.1.1) files that appear to Save but never show up on the computer. A Save As before closing the window causes a program error and all work is lost. I just recently installed Yosemite 10.10.3 and Creative Cloud. I too use the Finder in Column View. I will call Apple next, but for others searching for answers thought you'd want to know...

That is actually a new bug in MacOS 10.10 that causes program errors in the open and save dialogs. Changing the view (to icons or list) helps for some people, but not all. Apple is aware of this bug in MacOS 10.10 and working on solutions. (the previously mentioned crash was fixed in 10.10.1)

Thanks Chris. I've switched to list view and been able to get this project done without weirdness -- other than the weirdness of the Finder view affecting file saving!

This has actually never been fixed since my original post - weirdly it doesn't happen on my Mac Mini at home - both Macs run the same OS and same CC version - despite my best efforts I still haven't figured out what is going on with my iMac to make this happen?! I'm just working round it by dragging files to the PS icon. Not ideal, but it'll have to do!

As stated above - Apple fixed the original issue in 10.9.1.
MacOS 10.10 has introduced new issues, that Apple is still working to solve.
