Photoshop cc running slow after update

Hi there, I'm unable to work at my normal speed as photoshop is struggling. I've had a look at my computer, all other programs run fine.

Photoshop is struggling even to open a small file, or even to create a new black document, sometimes I have to wait 30seconds to 1-2 mins before it processes.

Please help.

What exact version of Photoshop are you using?
What OS version are you using?

What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

It's Photoshop CC. Version 14.2.1 x64

This has only been slow since about 1 month ago, it was running fine before, not sure if it's due to recently update.

I've:

- updated photoshop using creative cloud
- updated all windows updates
- run virus scan
- restarted computer
- checked task manager
- checked ram
- checked scratched disk

I'm on Microsoft Windows 7 Professional.

Any other ideas or tips on what else to check? It's strange other programs like illustrator, flash is running fine. it's just photoshop.

Common things that can make Photoshop run slow: bad video card drivers, bad mouse/tablet drivers, bugs in utility software (especially antivirus or automatic backup software), problems with the system hardware (especially the hard disk or RAM).

So what other steps would you recommend for us to check this? If it's the video card, mouse system etc, then other softwares should have issues as well, but none of the other softwares have issues?

No, other software may not be using the same code path, especially where the video driver is involved. Update your video card driver from the GPU maker's website (not Microsoft).
