Photoshop CC lags behind tool changes

I'm a brand new photoshop user. I am using it for digital drawing with a Wacom Intous tablet. I noticed that photoshop is getting stuck. The program isn't freezing, I can move the cursor around and continue to use the same tool I am on. However, if I try to switch tools, zoom in/out, etc., photoshop won't follow through with the function. It seems to keep track of all the things I am doing, because once it unsticks, it quickly cycles through all the functions in the same sequence I input them while it was stuck. It is extremely frustrating, especially since I am getting more comfortable with the program and these lags are slowing everything down, as I am constantly checking to see if it stuck.

What OS version?
Have you installed all the updates for Photoshop CC?

We've heard of similar problems due to issues with Wacom drivers (fixed in updates) and video card drivers (also fixed in updates).

And there are some bugs in MacOS 10.9 that can cause a similar delay in event handling.

MACOS 10.9.3, just updated the Wacom drivers about 2 weeks ago, and photoshop drivers I update as soon as I see one available. I turned the touch pad function off of the Wacom as well as the double click function in case it was registering my pen taps as part of a double click.

Did you install the WhiteWindowsWorkaround plugin to work around some of the known MacOS bugs ?
