Photoshop CC: Freezing on Windows 7 64-bit

I have re-installed Photoshop CC from the Creative Cloud app and both times, it opens and locks up on my Windows 7 (64-bit) machine. Motherboard is Intel DZ68DB, and the graphics card is on the board. No problems with other programs in the Creative Cloud Suite.

Photoshop CC is completely unresponsive. I can't even close it. I have to open Task Manager and kill the process (which is shown as "Not Responding.) What's wrong?

I actually am having the same problem... I'm running Windows 7, 64-Bit AMD Athlon(tm) Processor TF-20 1.60 GHz... Every time i try to open it, it goes to my last project I had open and only 1/2 the picture shows up, and the rest is a transparent background. (Checker-Board. Grey and White boxes...) I've re-installed Photoshop CC and Creative Cloud 6-7 times and same thing happens every single time... Adobe After Effects CC works with no problem... Well, it hasn't froze on me yet..

Just like you Ricky. Its completely unresponsive.. I have to open Task Manager and end the process, which shows "Not Responding" also... I am using a Lap-Top which don't make sense... Because I had Photoshop CS6 on this same Lap-Top and had Zero problems... If y'all could help either of us.. I'd be happier then now.... Thanks!

Is your video driver up to date from the card manufacturer's website?

The other thing to try is select Edit>Preferences>Performance... and click [Advanced Settings...]. Set the Drawing Mode to "Basic" and restart Photoshop:

I will try and see if its a permanent fix.
Any idea why tech support was not able to update to latest version on CC?

I was using the video driver in my Intel DZ68DB motherboard, the driver was up to date. So I purchased a new Nvidia GEFORCE GT640 (it was cheap) and had the same result! I was never able to get Photoshop CS6 to work.

I installed an old copy of Photoshop CS2 and it works fine with the Nvidia card. I suspect it would work fine with the Intel video as well, but I got tired of tinkering with it. At this point, I'm unsure as to whether I will continue my Creative Cloud subscription.

Jeffery, yes I have tried that , the first time I tried it was already on Basic, and then after that it still didn't work. And then I tried again and it still didn't work... So I'm lost :,(

I have the same issue - i.e. running Win7x64 Photoshop CS6 - while all other CS6 Master collections programs working fine - the Photoshop part does not work at all. It launches, but than you can not do anything - not even selecting ANY menu items.hence, stating going into "Edit" ... etc. is senseless, because pointing over any menu items provides NO response. The only way to shut done Photoshop CS6 is to kill it via task manager.

Please assist.

Cheers

Jose
