Photoshop CC: Cmd clicking to select layers within groups selects group instead

The Move tool in Photoshop (prior to CC) allowed you to cmd-click a layer within a group to select it if you had Auto-Select turned off. In CC the selection stops at the parent group level, instead of digging down to the layer you're clicking on.

Is this intended functionality?

It still respects the setting in the option bar. If it is set to Layer instead of Group command click will select the layer.

I'm having the exact same problem. It's clearly set to "Layer" in the option bar and it continues to select the Group instead. I'm on the latest update of Creative Cloud 2014...

Thanks for the help.

For anyone else who wasn't sure what the "option bar" is, it runs along the top of PS below the "main menu" (File, Edit, etc...) There is an icon of stacked layers next to a drop-down menu that will say "Layer or Group."

Would be nice to get more description from the Adobe employees on these types of topics. I know not everyone learned these programs from textbooks and does not know the exact terminology of everything.
