Photoshop CC 2014: Curves dots not active after selecting RGB channels with a mouse

One of my ways for fixing colour is by using the Curves tool.
First, I pick the channel I want to change, R, G or B. Then I go to the image and click on the place I want to change brightness - color with a ctrl + eyedropper tool.

The black dot then appears on the curve. Normally, in all prior versions of PS I could alter the curve from the black dot immediately with cursor keys Up or Down.

But since CC 2014 version, this is not possible. When I press Up/Down immediately after I make the dot on the curve, the channel menu is still active so instead of changing the curve it changes the channel!

There's a workaround for this that I currently use, since this is very annoying problem when working in a hurry.

1. Use the channel keyboard shortcuts in Curves instead of picking the RGB menu via mouse. So CTRL + 2/3/4/5 and the problem is gone - I can alter the curves immediately for all channels and brightness.

2. If I do pick the RGB menu with a mouse, the bug is active and the stuff that I described above happens. However, If I click on the curve -two- times on the same spot, PS CC will finally make the curve active and I can immediately change the curve like I used to.
