I have downloaded the latest Photoshop(CC2014), but when I try importing from my scanner via WIA support, the program crashes. I am running Win 8.1, i7 quad core, 16gb ram, nvidia k4000 video card, and I have a Canon pixma mx 459 all in one.

It appears that there is a "known bug" in the first popup you see when you invoke WIA Support in PS CC 2014. The app crashes abruptly if you click ANYTHING other than the Start button. (Or the Cancel button.)

Fortunately, the entire scanning module seems to work fine, if you just avoid clicking anything but Start (i.e., don't try to uncheck either check-box). I wasted a fair amount of time trying to get around this (installing CS6 again, etc.), and then someone pointed out that the Start button itself works.

Hopefully you'll have the same results.
