Photoshop CC 2014 bug: "Program Error" when zooming in while cropping a 16 bit image

Almost every time I use the crop tool and zoom into the image before committing the crop, I get the error message "Could not complete your request because of a program error."

Here's how to reproduce it:

Start out with a 16 bit image. There's no bug with an 8 bit image.
Zoom out so you can see the whole image, say 15%.
Select the crop tool, make sure it's NOT in classic mode.
Click on the image once to "activate" the crop.
Zoom in enough so that the image doesn't fit on your screen.

I'm using a Late 2013 Retina 15 inch MacBook Pro and running the latest version of Photoshop.

Photoshop CC (not 2014 but the one before) also has a similar bug but it wouldn't give me an error message, it would just scramble all the pixels of the image and it would look all glitchy like colored noise. Now it still does that but there's also an error message. I've reported that issue but it didn't get fixed, so here it is again.
