Photoshop CS 5.5 crashing because of Extensis font management plugins

Ever since I upgraded to 5.5 (mac os) I continually crash in photoshop. I thought new releases are supposed to be more stable. I should have stayed with version 3, which never crashed EVER. What a waste of money, and it continues to cost me, with all this work lost. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with this update.

What OS version are you using?

Can you post one of the crash reports so we can see where you are crashing?

(the most common crashes are due to OS bugs and third party plugins)

I'm using Mac OS Snow Leopard. I have no 3rd party plug ins. Will post a crash report the next time it happens, which should be soon. I'm not even doing anything complicated, just coloring art.

You did update to 10.6.8, I hope. (Apple fixed a lot of bugs in those dot releases)

You might be able to find old crash reports in ~/Library/Logs/Adobe/LogTransport

Unfortunately, I didn't find your email address on any of the reports in our crash database.

Photoshop just quit on me again before I even started doing any work. I have the crash report but there's only a button to send it to Apple. I can copy and paste it and send to you but you'll have to tell me where to direct it.

After closing the Apple dialog, there's a second dialog to send the crash report to Adobe (because Apple doesn't want to share the reports).

After getting the details (several pages, lots of text), you can paste it here or email it to ccox at adobe dot com.

Got the report - it's crashing in Extensis Font Management plugins.

Contact Extensis for updated plugins, or disable all their plugins until they have a fix.

Thanks, Chris. Just trashed the Extensis Photoshop plug-in. Hope this does the trick.
