Photoshop Workspace Needs Resetting Every Time I Use It

Since upgrading to CC2018 (it didn't do this in 2017), every time I bring Photoshop to the foreground, the panels are in disarray and I need to reset the workspace. I am using two monitors, and my suspicion is it has to do with this, as the panels are set to my secondary monitor. I can easily reset the workspace, but it's still a pain to do this each time. Tempted to revert to 2017.

Howdy Gareth,

Have you tried resetting the workspace and then immediately quitting Photoshop?  Also, what OS are you using?

Thanks,
David

I'm in macOS 10.13.3. It's an intermittent problem, often when the app has been open in the background for a while and then when I bring it to the foreground. I have the panels on my second monitor.

Is the second monitor being turned off or disconnected? This would cause the panels on the second monitor to jump to the primary monitor.

Have you saved a workspace for "with Second Monitor" and "without Second Monitor" so you can quickly configure either a single screen or double screen setup?

Thanks Jeffrey -- My second monitor is always connected and on. It is used all the time. (I use a MacPro "garbage bin" model, not a laptop.) I can always reset the workspace that has panels on the second monitor in a few seconds, it's just a pain. And, now, when I try to replicate the problem, it doesn't occur! When it's not working, all the panels shift from the upper left right monitor to the lower left of the primary left monitor.

I'll send you a screen capture of the two monitors when it's working and when it's not... not sure if it will help, though.

That said, I see now there's a CC update, so it may resolve itself. And, finally, an update for ID2018, which was pretty buggy, at least on my end. Yes!
