Photoshop: Won't open my file because its 'Not a Valid Photoshop document'

Hello, I've been working on an art piece in photoshop for quite some time now and just recently it won't allow me to open the file and gives an error saying it 'Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document'. This has never happened to any of my other files and when I look at it in my folders it shows it being a krita file despite me never even opening that file in krita. (however photoshop still thinks its a .psd file when in 'Open Recent') I can't for the life of me figure out why its not opening and I'm worried that ill have to restart my drawing. Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

Hi Lee,  Is this Photoshop CC 2019 or 2018?  Have you tried both recently?

How big is the file? Can you share via dropbox or CC files?

This often happens when a saved file has the wrong extension. There's a chance you accidentally saved it as a .jpg (or other), but with a .psd extension.
