Photoshop: Won't edit from Lightroom CC after latest update

After the latest update to LR CC 2015.10, I get this error message when trying to edit in PS CC 2017. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both apps, plus resetting preferences in both apps.

The error message is: "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory. Please reinstall the application."

The only way I can edit in PS is to open images directly into PS, then save the edits, and then sync with LR.

First thing I would do is to search for a second instance of Photoshop in your system - maybe a backup drive attached to the computer. Lightroom will use the copy that exists at /some random directory/Adobe Photoshop in preference to the copy owned by Creative Cloud in your Applications folder. Reason? Adobe.

No other PS installed, even on backup drives. Another person had this problem and posted on the main Adobe forum, with it also happening to that person after the update before this newest one, and that post hasn't received any answers other than it is a bug in the updates. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon.

Try the steps listed in this thread to see if you can get the missing pieces installed: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop-cc-2015-wont-load-after-update-june...

Unfortunately, that didn't work. Even with the earlier version of PS installed, I got the same message and I went back 2 versions and tried them separately. Thanks anyway. I'll keep hunting.
