Photoshop v21.01 on Windows10: Constantly lagging, freezing and having rendering issues

Hi,
I've had severe issues with PS for 3 days now, and it does not look to get any better. I am working on pictures (Lightroom is also opened) using among others clone stamp tool and brushes. After a couple of strokes the tools gets unresponsive, PS starts lagging (have to wait up to a minute before the tool gets responsive again), and eventually freezing. Also strange patterned boxes appear like the one on the attached image. It was working perfectly fine before, except for a post-update lagging issue with camera raw eventually sorted out removing Acronis protection. Not sure it is related, but Lightroom closed unexpectedly  a couples of times while using it.
I have reset preferences but it did not work.
Checked my system resources performances and it does not look they are under any particular pressure.
Any help please? PS is now unusable and I have work to deliver.

Thanks,
Simona

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info.Launch Photoshop, and select Help > System Info... and copy/paste the textin a reply.

Have you tried restoring your preferences?

Also, try going to Preferences > Performance... and check Legacy Compositing. Restart Photoshop. Are you still having issues?

Thank you for the advices.
I had reset the preferences and did not work, but haven't yet tried checking the Legacy Compositing, I will keep it mind. Due days ago I've noticed that the issues were more severe when using the Wacom pen (Wacom Intuos Pro tablet) than the mouse. Wacom's drivers are up to date but I was about to re-install them anyway to see the results (not yet done though). Since yesterday though it looks like I'm back to normal without having done anything particular?! Strange as for 3 day the issues had been constant. I have to work over the weekend and will see whether under stress it is still good or the same issues re-appear.
