After every major update of Photoshop I have to reinstall my 3rd party plugins.
This is really annoying. Please change this behaviour.

I have some scripts running.
Everytime I have to update the application path of the adobe apps.
It's a mess!

We have changed this behavior. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/plug-ins-photoshop-troubleshooting.html#Thirdpartyplugininstallationhelp

For CC 2015.5 and later, in order to minimize the need for reinstallation between major versions, we've asked developers to start installing into a shared Creative Cloud location. Please reinstall/update your 3rd party plug-ins for to use the Shared Creative Cloud Location so third-party plug-ins are automatically loaded between major versions.

Most developers have updated their plug-ins to use the Shared Creative Cloud Location. Nik is one exception, but they're not actively developing their plug-ins.

Well, that's a good step.
But there are still settings that won't be migrated.
For example: all recorded pathes in my actions contain the old path to PS 2015.5
WIN 10:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2017\Presets\Smart Sharpen
Beacause the smart sharpen settings are stored in the application path I do have to rerecord these settings after every update.

Also in Bridge there are settings that are not migrated to the new version (Win 8.1):
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CC 2015\Adobe Output Module\UserTemplate\ContactSheet

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Filters lost again.

It has happened again. This is just not tolerable. Every time there is a major update, this time to Photoshop CC 2017.0.1, all my filters are lost and have to be reinstalled. I just don't have time for this and none of the improvements being made to Photoshop justify the pain I will go through in putting Photoshop back into the state it was in before the upgrade.

This has got to be fixed. If Photoshop is designed in such a way that updates cause filters to be lost then the design is broken. Please, please stop this.
