Photoshop: Type styles dialog slow to open on my document

I'd like to add my experience with Type Styles to this post: I recently had a long list of text in one color, with just a few lines of another color. I used Type Styles on the whole paragraph and different ones on the few lines that were different. But anytime I double-clicked to edit one of the type styles PS would give me the "working..." cursor. I couldn't do anything on my computer for about 5 minutes until it caught up and finally opened the window. Was this because the paragraph box was long? I guess. It wasn't that long though. I'm on a brand new MBP with 16GB ram so I'd think it could handle it. Any thoughts? I'm using the latest version of PS CC. Is that a bug with this newest veresion? Thanks!

Howdy Dave,

Sorry for the slow response -- I've been out on paternity leave and your message didn't seem to get correctly routed while I was out.

It's true that Type Styles can sometimes be slow, but what you're describing doesn't sound right.  Five minutes, heck, ONE minute, is way too long.  How much text did you have?  Were you using both Paragraph and Character styles together?  Were there lots of them?  Can you reproduce this in other documents?

I'd like to see if I can track down the problem for you and come up with some solutions.
