The request
When I change tools using keyboard shortcuts, having a unique sound-effect play to confirm I have selected the right tool would be of great help to me.
  • I see this as being a feature added to "keyboard shortcuts"
  • The default for each tool would be "sound effects off" (i.e opt-in)
  • There would be some really cool standard prerecorded ones that shipped with Photoshop.
  • But I would be able to link my own custom recorded MP3 effects to a tool if I needed.

The Need Being Meet.
A lot of my day job revolves around using Photoshop. Being fast and efficient is important. When I spot film scans I swap between 5 Photoshop tools*, depending on the nature of the artifact I am removing. I always use keyboard shortcuts, but my room light levels are really low for color management reasons. So although I try to be careful sometimes in the dim room light I hit the wrong key on the keyboard and accidentally select the wrong tool.
I usually notice after several clicks of the mouse that something strange is happening to my pixels. Then there's the 10 seconds of a confusion as I try to diagnose why my pixels aren't doing what I expect. Then there's the fix-up time needed to go back in history and repair what I have done.

An option to have a sound effect confirmation each time I changed tools would be very helpful to me.
*5 Tools Used: Spot Healing, Healing Brush, Clone Stamp, History Brush (w dust and scratches), Patch tool.
