Photoshop saving PSD and not colorizing glyphs correctly. Saving a PS (psd) (CC2015) live type layer as a  PDF for Embossing/Stamping Vector Plate

When I save the PSD file as a Photoshop PDF the "script font " the words "Our Little Secret" font  Madelyn (licensed) the a "cross stroke" loses the tail end...  see file screenshot and PDF in "wireframe mode in pitstop"

san serif fonts seem to work fine.. other script fonts are behaving the same way on the last letter... Insights?https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gtaf85g4psn00rc/AAD3o-SLrhr4X99eexlYGO2Da?dl=0

Howdy Amybeth,

I looked at your files but I'm not quite sure what's missing.  Could you circle or mark the missing part of the glyph for me?  I'd like to see if I can help, but I don't understand the issue.

Thanks,
David

when you save the psd as a pdf, (most book jackets are designed for the most part in PS) the "–" in the t at the end of secret is cut off when you change the white type to 100% k

rather than creating a bitmap for foil stamping or re-typesetting in Indesign, was hoping to save the live type layer as a vector pdf, placed into indesign, but as you can see the black plate does not register because a portion of the "t" glyph is not displaying properly

Howdy Amybeth,

This might be a problem with the actual font.  Have you thought about converting the text to a shape?

Thanks,
David

this happens with other fonts as well .. in a publishing environment that would be considered destructive and even with a duplicate layer that wont be acceptable in the workflow...

Hiya Amybeth,

I'm playing with your files in PS and Acrobat but I'm not seeing any truncation.  Title2018 looks fine and the cross-bar on the final t in secret is fully displaying.  Would you mind sharing your precise steps?

Thanks,
David

Which settings are you using when you Save as PDF?  Are you maximizing compatibility?  Using the default settings?

When you says "color the type in black" you just mean setting the text color to black, right?  Anything else?
