Photoshop Reports Not Enough RAM While Using 3D

Reproducible problem running latest Photoshop version on Windows 7 64bit. Create a new document, any size, switch to the 3d workspace and create a sphere from the 3d presets panel. Select the sphere's material, then apply a texture to the diffuse channel. Any texture will do that is the same size as your new document, preferably a square sized one. Apply the texture to the diffuse, select the bump channel and pick the option to generate bump from diffuse texture. After that dialog opens for the preview, select OK. At this point every time I have tried, Photoshop reports there is an error and that there is not enough RAM to complete the task, which is wrong, because the machine has 24GB. I have tried these same steps on Mac OS using the latest version of Photoshop, and it works as expected, so evidently an issue with the Windows version of Photoshop.
