You're right that that doesn't look real good. Something has been corrupted. You first uninstalled and deleted your preferences before reinstalling? If not, save your presets and actions, and also if you like, save a copy of your preferences to another location, then try uninstalling without saving your preferences and reinstalling. If that doesn't work, you may have to wait for Adobe to return from their vacation next week.

You should add to this some information on your OS and version of Photoshop.

It looks like you might have deleted a required system font.

Howdy Martin,

I think Jeff is correct -- it looks like you've deleted the font used to render your OS.  On Windows, it's Segoe UI and on Mac it's Lucida Grande.  The safest and easiest thing to do would be to just reinstall the application.

Thanks,
David

Hi Martin,

Where did you download the fonts from?  If things aren't working, I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the fonts from a reputable source -- for Windows, try this https://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/family.aspx?FID=331 .  Then, reboot your machine and try again.

That should solve your problem.  If it doesn't, then the logical follow on questions are a) can you access this font in other apps?  If so, try reinstalling Photoshop.  If not, then you've got some other issue with your OS's fonts and you might be safer reinstalling the OS.  Do you use font management software?
