A few days ago, a new feature of Photoshop was sent out to me from Adobe concerning the select tool. It stated that the new photoshop would be able to use the select tool to select a person or object and the background would be removed automatically. Can you tell me when this feature would be available please.. Thank you..

Adobe never says in advance when they're sending out updates. Which, if you think about it, is a good thing. What if they do uncover a fatal flaw just before the date of release? We'd want them to pull back and release it later if they knew in advance it was going to be very destructive.

What all of us do is watch this spot. It will be announced when the Creative Cloud app is starting to make updates available to us.

Never hurts to ask. I just don't expect them to do more than "leak" their own most attractive new features as "coming attractions." LOL

Has anyone else seen the video on this. I did and it was absolutely fantastic. Only used the rectangular tool to make a quick selection of the subject or item and the background is completely been removed. Much better than the quick selection tool. It just said "Coming Soon".

The easiest way to find a tool that seems to be missing is to press and hold the disclosure triangle on the 3 dots at the bottom of the Tools panel and choose Edit Toolbar. Now look down the left hand side for the tool to see if it's in your workspace. If it is, you'll see what it's been grouped with.

If you don't find it there, look on the right hand side for tools that have been "hidden" but are accessible from the 3 dot ("more") menu. You can always drag it back from there into the toolbar proper.

The reason I give these instructions is that any number of workspaces that ship with PS have tools that don't show up as people expect, and people are always needing to learn how to locate them. Once you've gone through this, you'll see how easy it is to create your own custom toolbar with just the tools you want in your workspace.

Finally found it under the disclosure triangle and had it transferred to Selection Tool. Didn't even know that existed. Thanks very much!!
