Photoshop New Layer - Order

Whenever i duplicate a layer new one is created on top of existing.
but artists don't work like that.

Most of the document elements are created on top first and then others by dragging downwards.

Another approach: Photoshop should detect place of layers smartly (automatically) and arrange the order of layers either above or below of existing artwork layers. It may be funny to some people especially techy one's but very important for artists and educators.

For Exp : If you design a poster, most of the time top elements are designed first and other elements are dragged later into lower order.

Hence New layers should move downward rather upwards.

Photoshop Team can Add the smart detect feature where photoshop can understand position of layer as per placement and decide the order, it will be amazing...

It would be great to have an option in the Preferences to change the default behaviour!

As a workaround, I created fiew years ago 2 custom scripts to create a layer below the selected one:

One of these Scripts to create a layer below without naming it and the other one to open the Layer options dialog box.

Just copy these scripts in the Application/Program > Adobe Photoshop ?? > Presets > Scripts folder.
After restarting Photoshop, you'll have the ability to define a keyboard shortcut to these scripts using the dedicated feature in the Edit menu.

Hope that can help!
