Ok, I spoke to customer service who by the way that lady was so nice with me, but unfortunately, while in session, the lady couldn't see what was really going in my computer. Photoshop was working very smooth. BUT, this new adobe version may have caused completely crack my operating system software to the point that my computer had to be completely erase and install the operating system software again. Apple told me that a software may have caused the cracking of my computer's operating system software. again I am experiencing slowness while I am working on my images. It is NOT smooth anymore as it used to be. Any movement I made, my computer makes a pause about 5 seconds and then responds. You have no idea how frustrating has become to work on my pictures. Whoever created this new version needs to pay attention in other's peoples operating system softwares. Thanks!

Photoshop couldn't have done anything to your OS.
But some applications (MacKeeper, MacCleaner, and other scam "system optimizers" may have).

So far slowdowns have been caused by corrupt fonts, bugs in third party plugins, bugs in other applications (especially utilities like firewalls and antivirus), etc.

The first thing to try is setting the font preview size to "none" in the type menu.  If that helps, then the problem is a corrupt font or OS font cache (returning bogus information about fonts).

If you have third party plugins or extension panels installed with Photoshop, you can launch with the shift key held down to disable them.  If that works, then you can remove them one at a time to narrow down which one is causing the problem.
