Photoshop CC 2015: Lags just after startup on MacOS

Ever since I updated to CC 2015, Photoshop is supper laggy when I first start it up. Something as simple as just switching tools or changing fonts will cause everything to freeze, beach ball to spin, and then resume a second or so later. This is VERY annoying and frustrating. Please fix ASAP or I will be downgrading Photoshop (which defeats the whole purpose of having CC to begin with – to have the latest and greatest and most stable version). I am currently using OSX El Capitan but it was happening previously on Yosemite as well. Thanks.

Changing fonts or changing to the text tool immediately after launch can cause a pause, because it wants to finish creating all the font previews instead of evaluating them slowly in the background. Disabling font previews will avoid this pause.

I followed the instructions.... verified all my fonts with Font Book, downloaded the script to test all fonts (all passed), and even went through and deleted any fonts that I don't use that aren't essential to either Adobe or Mac.

I turned font preview back on and it got super laggy again.... :/
Any ideas as to what else I could do?

Did you trash the font caches?

Yes I did. Didn't seem to help either.

Darn. Those steps usually identify and solve the problem.

So at this point you could leave the font preview off, and hope we'll solve the issue with font fixes/bulletproofing we're doing in the next release.

I'd prefer to have a more solid answer, but if we can't identify which font or OS font cache is causing the delays, I'm not sure what more we can do.

Patrick, try closing the Libraries panel then quitting and re-launching PS. Does that help with performance?

I don't believe I had the Library panel in my toolbar to begin with, but I viewed it from the window menu, closed it, and restarted PS and its still lagging. :/
