When using Artboards everytime I make a change to a textlayer, Photoshop gets really slow and is about to crash/freezes. After a few minutes it goes back to normal.

I am producing banners right now and this lacking really drives me crazy :S

I am working on a Windows 7.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770, Intel Core i7 Processor (4GHz) and have 32GB Ram

Hi Mandy,

Are you having issues with text in general?  Have you tried using type in a regular document?  There should be no difference, but...

Also, are you running with lots of fonts on your machine, particularly third party fonts from "some website on the internet"?  Each font installed does impact PS's performance and third party fonts are notoriously buggy.  Try these steps to see if your fonts and/or font cache could be the source of your problem https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop-cs5.html .

One last thought, if you must have more than 300 to 500 fonts on your machine (depending on parameters), if you turn off font preview, you will reduce the impact of the number of fonts.

Hope that helps -- ping me here if it doesn't,
Thanks,
David
