Photoshop freezing

I have been having total hell with Photoshop and i am really regretting buying the month of CC i have bee trying for over 10 hours with Support via remote access to get the app to work without freezing on my MacBook Pro running 10.13.6 with 16GB ram and AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
By all accounts Photoshop should not be having any problems on my system, and i should be able to remove the background on my photos.
Well after more than 10 hours of trying it has proved impossible to remove the background of any of my product videos, as soon as i select and mask the trouble begins after the first stroke of the quick selection tool it is obvious there is a problem as it lags badly, it then freezes the program and i have to force quit, Support tried everything including wiping it from my system and reinstalling CC from scratch but still i have the same problems.
This has been a total nightmare i have hundreds of photos to remove the background from and the only program that will do a decent job is Photoshop but at them moment i am very frustrated as i am unable to do anything and can not complete any of the work i need to do as the tools i need to do the job do not work as they are supposed to. and i really do not have the money for someone on fiverr to do each photo for $5.
By the look of it Photoshop will not work on my MacBook Pro 10.13.6
Really not happy to be paying for a service i can not use to do anything it is advertised as being able to do, as soon as i try to do something the app freezes, After over 10 hours of trying to get this app to work i am at my whits end and i don't think i will ever get it to work on my MacBook Pro.
Looks like i will never be able to remove the background from any of my images so i will just have to dump the whole idea of trying to do so.
My  experience with Photoshop so far has been a total nightmare and i really regret buying the service of an app that does not work.
Very very very unhappy customer

Hi! I don't use a Mac but the very newest version of PS seems to have been giving a lot of people issues. I really highly recommend you try downgrading to a version prior to 20.0 as that solved my issue. You should be able to do that by going to the Creative Cloud App, selecting the arrow next to PS and clicking Manage > Previous versions.
I've been using PS for over 4 years and have had a few hiccups but the most recent update really totalled my work, bringing up "out of ram" messages when simply using the move tool and even saving documents. I downgraded back to ver 19.7 if I recall correctly and I highly urge you to do so to see if this fixes your issue.

Thank you for you advice, Already tried downgrading the older version with Adobe Tech support, it did not help.
I have decided to get a refund and i will buy
As it seems to be able to do everything i need to do with my photos for now.
I have to say i am really astounded, should work fine on my Mac.
I really can not wait for the fix i have too much work to do.
Thank you very much for trying to help me i do appreciate it.

Bertie, like a previous post I am not a Mac user. I have used PS for a long time now and after the latest update to the product my 'work' has come to a standstill with no remedy in sight. I am going to become a 'cook and stir the pot'. I am NOT happy with PS at the moment but don't want to give up on Adobe just yet. Because you provided a link to another product, I'll check it out. If they want my money I'll give it to them. One of my pervious posts in this 'family' I wrote I'll wait until the holidays are done and people are back to their jobs, I mean work, until I make a change. Good Luck!
