Photoshop CC: freezing when extensively cloning on Win10

When doing extensive cloning, Photoshop CC will freeze up on my Windows 10 machine. The only way I have been able to continue working is to open the Task Manager and click on the Performance tab. When I close the Task Manager I can continue with my cloning.

This has been happening for almost a year.

I have had different computer repair people try to fix the problem, but nothing they have done has solved the problem.

Sorry for the issue with Photoshop CC freezing on Windows 10 Lawrence.

Which version of Photoshop is installed? Is it currently up to date? https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/uptodate.html#CurrentVersion

If you're doing extensive cloning, you're using the brushing tools, which could be freezing related to the GPU or the GPU driver.
If you adjust the drawing mode in the Performance Preferences does that help?
What about Disabling the GPU?
Have you checked if your video card (GPU) has an updated video driver available from the vendor?

Let us know how those suggestions go.
