PHOTOSHOP FREEZE and LAGGING /// SOLUTION ///

CC2020 is crashing when I try to use the 'Select Subject' function. I thought I'd give your solutions a try.
Solution 1 did not work for me, I have over 10GB free on c:/ (also an SSD as you have)
I started on Solution 2 but at the last step the dialogue box did not contain "SELECT THE PREFERRED GRAPHIC PROCESSOR FOR THIS PROGRAM select your INTEL CARD or INTEGRATED CARD. " 
I have not tried Solution 3 yet.

Solution 3 seems to have fixed it for me! 
Thank you so much, this has been killing my productivity with the frequency and length of the freezes!

For me, Photoshop is causing my whole system to freeze when I try to open it so I can't even get to try the first solution.

The windows ink thing apparently worked for me! I unchecked it and tried the situations that would usually cause the program to freeze. At least so far, everything is working so smooth I don't even dare to believe! Thanks a million

You can also try this: Go to Control Panel > Pen and Touch : on Pen Options tab, click on the pen action: Press and hold    Right-click, then click on Settings... button.  In that dialog uncheck Enable press and hold for right-clicking.  Click Ok, and then Apply/Ok.  Restart

Greetings, i've been searching all kinds of forums/documents and haven't succeeded so far.. I'm using Release 21.1.2 with no external plugins. I've tried nearly every solution on every forum (disabling gpu from performance, changing scratch disks, legacy compositing, history, cache, etc), but sitill i have a great deal of difficulty while working with my documents, so laggy and stuttering, and what the hell is about saving? it takes quite a long time...

Some specs of my .psd documents are;
2360x720px - lots of grouped layers (~50) with vector smart objects, nearly no adjustment layers
1180x360px - 640x360, 700x600 etc.

and here is my setup:
tuf mark 2 x299 - i9 9940x - 8x16 vengeance lpx 3000mhz - 8GB seahawk x gtx 1080 - samsung 950 pro for boot - samsung t5 1tb for data - 1200W PSU and below is my system info copied from photoshop.

Any kind of help will be quite appreciated.

Well, I have found solution - you need to find torrent with photoshop 2019, and install it. It works perfect. Its "funny", but Im paying for photoshop and I need to use older version from torrents, because Adobe is full of crashes and there is no possibility to use older version of program that works good.

Just here to say that the nvidia vs intel stuff seems to work. I already had the 3rd step done because my wacom tablet would only allow pressure if I used pen mode and I prefer mouse mode. I've not done much testing yet, but the fact that PS opened up in 10 seconds instead of the usual 2-3 minutes already gives me some hopes. Thanks man, saved my ass a lot of googling

Hi, I had a massive problem with lag in PS, when I was trying to _close_ saved file. Switching between open files was fine, just closing single file was freezing PS for several seconds.

TL;DR - disable 3rd Party Plugins - in my case probably FontBase plugin is the lag culprit, since I do not have other PS plugins.

It was like several seconds, the PS was freezed and (what was symptomatic) - I was seeing layers (in Layers panel) from the closed file briefly (for the duration on the lag) _in_ the other (still open) file.

I tried various “solutions” to no avail (disabling scratch disks, graphics card, nVidia settings). Than I stumbled on to one solution:

When I read that FontBase (which I have) might be the problem - I literally jumped up. Because - several years ago - I had similar problem with Suitcase plugin. I was unable to work back than, because of the overwhelming lag. And it was an auto-activation for fonts plugin - come on - in PS we don’t need it that bad. Just activate the font and run again PS.

Ok, to sum up - I tested PS with all solutions applied and disabled (nvidia, disks and other) and the only time the lag disappears, is when I start PS holding Shift (thus disabling 3rd Party Plugins).

Guys - try that.
