Photoshop: Floating windows automatically expand when moving from window to window

In Photoshop in Windows, when I have multiple floating windows open and I move from window to window, the one I click on automatically expands to full screen, forcing me to manually resize it. Very frustrating issue as I usually have multiple files open and move back and forth rather frequently.

Howdy Ryan,

Are you by chance using a tablet while you work?  If so, what's the make of the tablet?

Thanks,
David

Howdy Ryan,

I asked my questions the way I did because this is almost certainly a problem caused by your tablet, but I didn't want you to think I was just copping out.

It sounds like your tablet is messing with the input to Photoshop, causing the floating windows to expand.  I'd be willing to bet that if you disconnect the tablet and disable the driver, the problem will disappear.  I'd highly recommend trying that first.

Then, assuming I'm correct, contact Cintiq and see if there's a newer driver without the bug.  If, however, removing your tablet from the equation doesn't solve the problem, then by all means, please ping me again here.

Thanks and good luck,
David

Hey Hannah,

I'm using Photoshop CC 2017 on Windows 10.
