Photoshop Elements 2020 Organizer keeps crashing

I just bought Photoshop Elements 2020 for the main purpose of organizing all my years and years of photos.  I tried making it bulk import all my photos and it keeps crash, and I tried just specific folders and it also crashes.  The folders are mainly with Apple iPhone pictures which are HEIC format files which I have downloaded the required files from the Microsoft store already.  Please help.  Is this happening to anyone else?  I tried to look for Adobe technical support to talk to but I cannot figure out where to go for it?

I am not sure the HEIC format is supported at all in the organizer. I am not an Apple user at all and I'll never use that format for many reasons, but I am curious to know how PSE2020 can handle it. I have downloaded test images to play with them.
They open fine in the editor. Contrary to jpegs, tiffs, psd or png, they are not recognized if opened 'in camera raw', which is not surprising.
I can't get any HEIC files to be entered in an organizer catalog. Curiously, I get a message about 'unsupported color space' even if the same file opened directly in the editor shows a normal sRGB color space. That's a bit like pdf files, which can be opened (after conversion to bitmap) but which are not supported in the organizer in recent PSE versions.

Did you try to import a single HEIC in the organizer, which should result in the same message I am getting?

If you just bought PSE2020 for that specific purpose, it's a pity you did not follow the wise advice to download the trial version first. I am afraid we'll get a confirmation that PSE 2020 only supports HEIC in the editor, not the organizer. In that case, you may be entitled to a refund... or you'll have to find a tool to batch convert your HEIC files to standard and widespread file formats like jpeg or tiff.

I installed the HEIF image extensions and I am able to import just 1 HEIC file, and I just tested importing just by the file only and it seems that works.  It is just the bulk import that is crashing whenever I import too many files it seems :(  How can I get Adobe support to look into this?  Or is there some way I can reset the whole Organizer database again.

You are in the right place for user feedback but even if you can add a single HEIC file in a catalog (which I can't), there is little chance that the format will be supported in the organizer before long, if ever. Today, HEIF support by Adobe is limited to opening. Another current discussion here indicates that you can import HEIF in Lightroom, but that you can't save as HEIF, just like in PSE. However, I can't open the same test files in Lightroom that open ok in PSE2020!
Friendly personal advice: wait a few years before trying to convert your library to the HEIF format and keep converted versions of them in your library and catalogs.

Actually, the HEIF import is fine.  It seems the main issue is that Photoshop Elements Organizer is hogging up all the memory and then at some point it uses too much more and it crashes my computer.  I have 16GB RAM right now already!  I am going to get another 16GB and see how it works.

Also, the other thing I noticed is that it seems the live photo MOV files are not getting imported for some reason -- does anyone else know of this?
