Elements 14: Guided Edit mode comparerd to version 13

Hi there,

I'm used to work with Photoshop Elements 13 in the guided format and I  was very comfortable with the toolbar in my right side of the screen.

I've just bought the version 14 and for the guided format, the screen shows the different actions centered in the screen and my picture in a small rectangle in the corner. I imagine that it has to do with the configuration of the view or the toolbar.

Could anybody help me?

Thanks in advance!

Daniel

The guided edit mode has been changed in Elements 14. I imagine it's supposed to fit the taste of new users accustomed to touch screens and tablets...
Anyway, I can't imagine what you are describing by 'a small rectangle in the corner'. Could you post a screenshot?

Thanks, that's yet another proof that an image is better than a thousand words!
Here is what you are seeing, from top to bottom:
- three horizontal menus, the third one allows you to choose the type of guded edit you want
- The images you are seeing are like an illustrated sub menu to show you what options you have when you have chosen an edit type in the menu above.
Instead of explaining what each option does, it shows a before/after of the effect. An image instead of many words.
The bar with an image thumbnail across the bottom of the display is the photo bin. It shows all images you have opened in the editor, in your case, one.

All this display is a menu, it's not an editing space, which will appear once you have selected your edit type (horizontal bar), your sub option choice (clicking on the images). Some effects like Photomerge require several files to be opened in the photo bin.

From what I've seen, this is the new view and there is no way to change it. I, also, am a mainly Guided Mode user. I really dislike the change and don't think I will even use Elements 14 because of it.

Hi Amanda.

Thanks for your response. Yes, that's a little disappointing the new Guided view and a shame they've choosen to do this.

Thanks again,

Daniel
