Elements 13: Text editor randomly changes text or becomes corrupted

The text tool editor in Photoshop Elements 13 malfunctions, similar to blog "As you work with text layers in Adobe Photoshop CS6, the text is replaced by text from a different layer or randomly changes. Or, the text becomes corrupted". This was apparently solved for CS6, by apparently downloading an update called 13.0.1, yet I cannot find an update to specifically correct this in Elements 13.

Was the file you're working on created by you in Elements? Was it ever worked on or saved from a version of Photoshop CS6?

The file was entirely created inside of Elements 13, never in CS6. I originally owned a license for Photoshop CS - the original - whish is now no longer supported, but I used the Text tool extensively for years, and it was always rock solid - a joy to work with. Knowing how Text should function is the reason this malfunction is so apparent.
Aside from the Text issue, I'm very pleased with Elements 13. Its a very fine and affordable package. I'd never used anything but full Photoshop CS and was concerned about the features, but they seem verbose and robust.
Back to Text issue, I Googled and found out about the CS6 text issue, and it seems the very same problem in E13, but I can't locate any updates. Michael

OK. I'll have to have someone more familiar with the text engine investigate.
