Elements 13: Printer Error on Windows 7

Photoshop Elements 13 - Just did an upgrade. Created a document, did layers, much success, printed beautifully. Created a second document - suddenly printer errors. Using an Epson Photo R2000. Errors - 1) The saved print information is an incompatible version, it has been set to defaults values. 2) X because the saved printer can not be opened. I have deleted and re-added the printer, upgraded the driver, deleted the driver and reinstalled. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Did the upgrade for the features, but need to be able to print for holiday gift giving!

What OS/version are you on? Did you recently upgrade to Yosemite?

Hi Jeff, I should have specified. Am running Elements on an old Windows 7 Professional machine, 64 bit.

Were these files printed out with a different printer/computer prior?

Nope. Same program, same computer. So. First I upgraded. Created the files. Printed. No issue. Created a second file. Got printer error.

Did all the "remove printer, reinstall, upgrade driver, remove and reinstall again" business. Still no success printing (Errors above).

I can print with an older version of elements though, no problem. So, there is that.

Ah, folks, I assume you will be getting back to me on this, but I just want to say :( I hate that I upgraded, only to be back to Elements 8.0 to actually be able to create content that I can print.

Interestingly enough, now I am having issues with Element 8.0 as far as printing is concerned. I wonder if that is because I did this upgrade to Elements 13 as well. What is the deal? Is there an incompatibility with the Epson printer? More unhappy, if that can be. Spent $80.00 and now am in worse shape than I was before I spent a dime.

I have to complete a complex project with only a few hours available over then next few weeks to work on it. I would very much appreciate assistance in this matter. And thank you. Much.

No, the install of Elements 13 doesn't affect Elements 8.

It sounds like there is a bug in the Epson driver, or a problem with the installation of the Epson driver.

Have you checked with Epson for updated drivers (that might fix the bugs)?

Hi Chris, I did. According to Epson, I have the latest driver. However, I deleted the driver, rebooted, reinstalled the driver, and rebooted. Still no joy with Elements 13. :( I haven't tried Elements 8, will do that now.

Hi. No thoughts on things to check / try? I hate the idea that Elements 13 is not something that I can fully use. Please let me know, and thank you.

Experienced same problem yesterday with Elements 13 and Windows 8. Problem occurred AFTER Adobe download updated Elements 13 with an updated to RAW file handling. Received same messages (error code 31). Did all normal troubleshooting for devices drivers, etc. No luck. Wound up editing photos in Elements 13, saving as new file, and printing via another program. Oh yeah - using Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer. Current situation most unsatisfactory.

Had the same problem , I am on Win 7 32 bit . Windows and drivers are fully up to date but PSE 13 will not print . Gave up on it and sent it back to amazon for a refund . After all , any photo package MUST be able to print . Now back on PSE 11 which is working perfectly .
