Hi I recently got a 24 mp Canon DSLR and I have PSE 13 but it doesn't open the RAW pictures. My 16 MP camera worked fine in this program. I have tried to update the RAW and it did update to the latest. Just won't open. Any suggestions without having to buy a later version of PSE? Thanks, Debbie

Everything is explained in that faq:

First look at the first ling to see which ACR version is needed for your camera,
Then at the second one to find which ACR version your Elements version can be updated to.
The free solution is to download the Adobe DNGconverter, an independent software (not a plugin) which can batch convert a whole folder of your raw files to the DNG raw format that your current Elements version can read and edit.

Thanks Michel, a foremost adviser for RAW plugins.  DNG has been suggested many times.
The DNG converter is the best for older PSE.   Versions 14 and 15 have converter plugins, but different RAW formats may still need DNG.  You have it now, but you should pass the DNG converter link to all your friends.   Pass it around.

Steve,
I think I have shared those links a hundred times in the Elements user to user forum... and I am not the only one. We must live with the fact that people don't understand what is raw and that you can't upgrade the ACR plugin for old versions. There is worse than things people can't understand; that's when they wrongly believe they do understand.
