Elements 12 Editior crashing on launch

Hi
my photoshop Elements 12 won't open on my mac a message keeps opening up and when i follow the instructions nothing happens.

Message reads:

Photoshop Elements 12 Editor quit unexpectedly.

Click reopen to open the application again. this report will be sent tp apple automatically.

when i press reopen nothing happens.
