Elements 11: Crashes when I try to make a collage

I am trying to use Elements to make a collage. Whenever I do, I get the error message "Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." It doesn't notify me. Any solutions to this? Someone put one answer on the forum - I tried it, no change, same problem.

Which OS version are you using?
Have you installed all the updates for Elements 11?
What does the detailed crash report say? (check the system event viewer)

Windows 8.

All updates are installed.

Here's the messages in the system even viewer, none of which means anything to me:

That crash doesn't look like it has anything to do with Elements.
