Elements 10: Teminates due to Runtime Error

Getting the following message when I try to use Photoshop elements 10
Runtime error! X (red circle around X)
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information

I click OK and am logged out of Photoshop. Can not use the program. Help!

Hi Dan,

Thanks for posting here.

Could you please tell us is this giving you some path also in the Runtime Error.
and Please try to open Task Manager >
Launch PSE 10
Check for the application which is also getting started with Elements 10 in the Task manager.
Once you get the error : check if any new Task starts in the Task Manager.

I saw windows live messenger running and another canon program. I closed them and reopened PSE 10. Still got same message. Checked task manager when error message appeared and there were no other programs running. Still not resolved. What next?

Is there a number I can call to work through this problem? I cant recall if I bought a disk for this or downloaded from internet site. I read that uninstall and reinstall might resolve but i cant find the install disk. Can you help with this. I love this program and need it for my work. Thanks
