Hi there William,

You need to try again.   A stopped download at 50% or more indicates your anti-virus program is still on and working in the background.   It's programmed to check for viruses as a download passes through your port.   You need to find your anti-virus icon in the task tray, right click it, then click on "disable auto-protect" (or anti-virus) AND click it again to "disable firewall".   Yes, you won't have a firewall but that not a setback, as it is a temporary condition.  The likelihood of being endangered in a relatively short time is next to zero, as the chances are 23 billion:1  in a ratio that you would be hit with anything.  If you want the download, you need to do this.   Even if you were to buy a new version of Photoshop Elements (14 or 15) you would need to do this to get it to download.   Otherwise, you could take your chances of getting a disc in the store, as version 10 is almost extinct.   You are not getting much support from other Adobe techs because this version-10 is no longer supported.

To be frank with you, IF you are finding this on another website other than Adobe's (likely),  then you could be taking a chance with that website as well.   My serious suggestion, is that you cut any losses you had with version-10 and buy 15.   Both are a 64 bit program and will run on Windows 7, 8 or 10.

There is not a problem on Adobe's website or download page.   This download-stall is from Windows or your anti-virus program.   That's why I am responding for a Windows problem, as a Microsoft engineer.   William, buy version-15 and be happier.   Happy computing.
