InDesign and Illustrator both allow the user to set (in Preferences) the default kerning amount (in 1000/em increments; default is 20) used in keyboard-shortcut kerning. Photoshop has no way to set this default, so if the user wants anything other than increments of 20, the user has to switch from just using Option-arrow to set the kerning, to going to the Character palette and typing in a number. If we could set that value to something lower (I use 5 in Illustrator & InDesign), we could kern type in Photoshop much faster and easier.
