Photoshop: Crashes b/c of vector smart object clip paths

Is it possible that a vector smart object that includes some annoying clip paths would crash photoshop? I pulled the object from a pdf file and didn't clean it up before pasting into Ps.

Didn't have trouble with the original psd file, but when I tried to resize/save a different version of it, Photoshop freaked out. I tried four times to resize image/resize canvas, and then save as, but each time there was a glitch that crashed photoshop. I know my graphics card and Ps don't play nice any more, but I'm wondering if this is something more.

First time it happened, I thought I'd done something silly - maybe not holding my mouth right. After the second time, I restarted the computer. On the third attempt I thought it could be a third-party font so I converted the suspect font into a shape (that usually takes care of buggy things like my keyboard not working in Ps but working fine in other programs), however the crash still happened. On the fourth try, I realized I was wasting time when it crashed yet again. That time I had the vector smart object open in Illustrator when Ps crashed when I tried to save. That's when I thought simplifying the smart vector object might help, but by then I'd given up on the original file and rebuilt it. Thankfully it wasn't as complicated as my usual files and didn't take very long - but all of that nonsense wasted a valuable chunk of my time when that shouldn't have taken more than 15 minutes.

The new file worked fine with the simplified versions of the smart objects (after I removed the clip paths) but I haven't tried to resize then resave it.

The offending file included two smart vector objects, both had clipping masks. It also included a third party font and images from unsplash.com... I can forward it if someone wants to try to duplicate this issue for troubleshooting.

I'm working in Photoshop 20.0.1
Here're my machine specs:

Haven't had this issue since I updated a month or two ago. I hope I never have this issue again.
