Photoshop CC 2014: Problem with applying inner stroke to shapes at a layer group level

In CC 2014, if you:
a) create a shape
b) copy the shape layer into a new layer
c) group the shape layers
d) apply an inner stroke to the group
then, in addition to the shape strokes, additional horizontal and vertical stroke lines are created across the width and height of the image.
It only appears to be a problem when the effect is applied at the group header level and only to inner, as opposed to outside or center strokes.
I'm using Windows 8.1, Firepro 5900 and driver 14.301.1019.0
