Photoshop CC version 20.0.1 crashing & losing files on Windows 10 Pro/nvidia GTX 1080Ti

Upon install of 20.0.1 on my windows machine NVidia GTX 1080 Ti GPU (other specs below), I began work on a clients project. It appeared that photoshop was working as always, BUT after the 3rd time my saved project crashed, leaving a strange, corrupt, layerless file, I began to realize that 20.0.1 had issues,

I called tech support and was very impressed with their willingness to immediately try and help me, unfortunately, try as they did, they were unable to fix the problem. My 3rd crash occurred after tech support.

I did get some messages on my screen, in photoshop, stating that my nvidia driver was incompatible with photoshop and that PS was turning off GPU rendering and usage. A re-boot would make things go back to normal for 15 mins or so, but when i would do certain things, like scrolling through fonts in a photoshop project, it would crash again. The scary thing is that it would make the file, even if properly saved earlier, a layerless, corrupt file, that only displayed a Red, white-noise, style image. Nothing else.

I rolled back to version 20.0 (which I am still currently using) and everything works perfectly, as usual.
