Photoshop CC: Toolbar buttons sticking.. getting stuck

toolbar buttons get stuck in dropdown menu with single click... it's extremely irritating especially being on the application all day. I have to click the intended tool button twice in order to get rid of the drop down menu options. I realize it should do this when I double click or hold down click.. but not when I simply want to select a tool with a single click. Please help!

It's the double click speed in your mouse settings that's causing this. Same thing happened to me.

i wish it were this simple for me, but unfortunately i've tried several mice as well as adjusting mouse settings. I will be surprised if this ever gets resolved as i've spent hours on this issue. thanks

What OS/version are you running on? Are you using a wacom tablet?

Does the same thing happen when using a mouse? Or only happens with the tablet/pen?

Have you tried restoring your prefs? http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/201...

Are you running any system extensions? They usually show up here in System Preferences:

yes same problem occurs with pen and mouse. yes tried restoring prefs also tried resetting tools... also I've deleted/uninstalled all of my "other" system extensions including wacom, flash, growl, logitech, and fan control. Restarted my computer and still no change... I've also uninstalled photoshop cc and reinstalled but that failed to correct the issue as well.

That is bizarre. I can't repro offhand. Let me check with a few of my colleagues.

thanks man, I really appreciate the help... this has been an ongoing issue for a few months now.. and interestingly enough its occurring on my other 27" imac at home as well which has a very similar setup. It seems like it has to be another program that is interfering with photoshop I just can't identify what it might be

If you think it's another app, the easiest way to find it is to quit them one by one until the problem goes away. Or just launch PS by itself to rule them out.

Well, I don't have any apps running simultaneously with photoshop since troubleshooting. I'm just wondering if something is operating in the background.. but Safe mode would have ruled that out right? (I've also tried uninstalling google chrome and google drive - ive heard these can cause issues with photoshop)
