Photoshop CC suddenly (today) very slow on screen redraws

Apple Retina MacBook pro with 8gig ram.

Yesterday fine with scaling/distorting layers in 10,000 x 6,000 pixel dimension/500Mb files. Today in same files, using the distort layer tool screen updates take 1/2 second to redraw for each move making alignment with lower layers impossible. Yesterday and all previous screen update lovely and fast/real time.

This means I currently cannot use photoshop, so grateful for any pointers.

Have deleted prefs file, fiddled with performance preferences to no avail! Other aspects of computer seem fine. Rendering 100% DNG views in Bridge same speed as usual - fine.

What OS version are you using?
MacOS 10.10 has some known video driver slowdowns, as well as bugs which cause corrupted drawing of images. Showing rulers causes the largest known slowdown, and the histogram palette can also cause a marked slowdown.
Apple is aware of these issues in MacOS 10.10 and working on solutions.
